" I have determined that as prosecuting attorney, my job consists of far more than reviewing investigations in my office and prosecuting cases in court. It's important for the community to know their prosecutor and the prosecutor to know his community. Therefore, I have embarked on a concerted effort to be visibly engaged within the Elkhart County community as it pertains to public safety and other issues as well. I want to provide the people I serve an opportunity to learn more about me, the office I represent, and my plans as Prosecuting Attorney."
-Curtis T. Hill, Jr.
It is important to provide my personal support to worthy causes when possible, and our deputy prosecuting attorneys have been directed to step up as well. As a result, each of them has volunteered to perform a continuing, valuable service within the Elkhart County community. Whether it be mentoring a child or volunteering for a service club, our deputies can learn a great deal about the people they serve by serving them outside the contexts of their profession. In addition to community volunteering, it is imperative that the Prosecuting Attorney's Office update the community as it pertains to crime and public safety. We will do so by accepting invitations to speak at clubs and other organizations as well as participate in forums and other discussions as might be appropriate in keeping with our professional responsibilities.
