Curtis T. Hill, Jr. is the Prosecuting Attorney for the 34 th Judicial Circuit, Elkhart County, State of Indiana . He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Indiana University School of Business and subsequently earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Indiana University School of Law in 1987. Prior to being elected Prosecuting Attorney for Elkhart County in November of 2002, Curtis was engaged in the private general practice of law while also serving as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Elkhart County.
Hill has been active through his service to a variety of boards and professional associations. Currently he is serving as Immediate Past President of the National District Attorney's Association, and Chairman of the Governor's Council on Impaired Dangerous Driving. In addition, Hill serves on the Board of ETHOS and the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart. He is a member of the Elks Lodge #425, the NAACP (life membership), the Elkhart City Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the State Board of Law Examiners Committee on Character and Fitness. Hill is an Honorary Rotarian, and provides volunteer work for the Elkhart County 4-H Extension Project Lead, and participates in the Community Theatre. Hill is formerly a member of the Board of Governors at the Indiana State Bar Association and the Board of Director's of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.
Hill has testified before Congress on “Methamphetamine in the Heartland” and was a presenter for the 2004 Northern Indiana Methamphetamine Summit sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy Executive Office of the President of the United States.
