No other offense is more devastating to a community than a homicide. In addition to the greater community, families, neighbors, and friends feel the extreme tragedy of the loss of a loved one. The senseless act of taking the life of another human being will not be overlooked by the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Although a vast majority of Elkhart County homicide cases are solved, some still remain unresolved in our community. It is the desire of the Prosecutor's Office to bring resolution to these cases and hold criminals accountable. Since January of 2003, the Investigative Division has been conducting a review of open homicide cases in hopes of developing new leads which may facilitate apprehension and criminal prosecution.
It is important that prosecutors and police communicate with residents of the community in order to further investigate the below listed unresolved homicide cases. We ask that if you have any knowledge relating to these pending investigations that you contact local police or our Investigative Division. This can be done by email or be calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-288-STOP.
