Office of the Prosecuting Attorney of Elkhart County

About the Child Support Division

The Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program was established in 1975 under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act. The goal of the Title IV-D program is to assure that both parents provide financial support to their child(ren). In Indiana, the state child support bureau contracts with the prosecutor's office to oversee the Title IV-D program in Elkhart County.

The Child Support Division of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney of Elkhart County is responsible for performing a variety of legal enforcement activities, including location of non-custodial parents, establishment of paternity, health insurance orders and support orders, and modification and enforcement of existing orders.
