The mission of Victim Assistance Services is to effectively provide information and referral to those who have had the unfortunate experience of being a victim of a crime in Elkhart County.
Indiana Code 35-40-6 requires that the office of the prosecuting attorney in each county maintain statutorily mandated efforts relating to services for crime victims.
The Advocates with Victim Assistance strive to serve all victims of crime in a timely, effective and compassionate manner. Since combining the Goshen and the Elkhart office into one with the Prosecutor's office, we are able to have direct access to prosecutors and files enabling us to answer questions quicker and to make any necessary referrals to other agencies.
Victim Advocates serve as a liaison to the criminal justice system for victims
of crime.
