Court Locations and Information

Indiana State Court

In 1851 the Indiana Constitution granted the Indiana General Assembly the power to create circuit courts. It was at that time Indiana was divided into circuits based on county lines. Elkhart County is designated as the 34th Judicial Circuit. As counties grow, the number of courts are expanded and jurisdictions established for each court. Elkhart County consists of one circuit court, six superior courts, three municipal courts, two magistrate courts, one juvenile court, and one child support court.
