ELKHART COUNTY PROSECUTING ATTORNEY CHARGES 11 IN CORRUPT BUSINESS INFLUENCE INVESTIGATION

On June 13, 2014 the Elkhart County prosecuting attorney issued charges for 11 individuals as part of the corrupt business influence investigation.

The following individual were charged in Elkhart County Superior Court 3:

Gurcharn Singh, age 43, is charged with one count of corrupt business influence, a Class C felony; three counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance in, on or within 500 feet of a public park – more than two grams, a Class C felony; two counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance- more than two grams, a Class D felony; and five count of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Jaswinder Kaur, age 37, is charged with one count of corrupt business influence, a Class C felony; four counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance in, on or within 500 feet of a public park – more than two grams, a Class C felony; and four count of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Gurpreet Singh, age 22, is charged with one count of corrupt business influence, a Class C felony; one count of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance in or within 500 feet of a public park – more than two grams, a Class C felony; three counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance in, on or within 500 feet of a public park - more than two grams, a Class C felony; two counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and five counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

In Elkhart County Superior Court 2, Muhammad Mobeen Khan, age 28, is charged with one count of corrupt business influence, a Class C felony; one count of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug – more than two grams, a Class D felony; six counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and six counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

The following individuals were charged in Elkhart County Superior Court 6:

Peter Rose Fernandes, age 48, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; three counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; three counts of money laundering, a Class D felony; and one count of making false sales document, a Class D felony.

Maranda Marie Haynes, age 41, is charged with two counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and two counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Amandeep Singh, age 21, is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug or synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; four counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and four counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Gurpreet Singh, age 36, is charged with three counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony and three counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Sarabjit Singh Gujjar, age 23, is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug or synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; three counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and three counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Sukhjinder Singh, age 22, is charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a synthetic drug or synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; one counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony; and one counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Melissa L. St. George, age 37, is charged with two counts of dealing in a synthetic drug or a synthetic drug lookalike substance – more than two grams, a Class D felony and two counts of money laundering, a Class D felony.

Initial hearings for all individuals are scheduled for the week of June 16, 2014.
