SUSPECTS APPREHENDED IN TIMBERBROOK HOMICIDE

On October 20, 2020, at approximately 7:45 p.m., emergency medical responders and Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single car crash in the Timberbrook Mobile Home Trailer Park, located in Bristol, Indiana. Upon arrival, one Joshua Roberts (21) of Bristol, Indiana, was found unresponsive in the vehicle. Medics removed Roberts from the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Due to the nature of some of the injuries observed on Mr. Roberts’ body, the Elkhart County Homicide Unit assumed responsibility of the scene.

On October 21, 2020, a forensic autopsy was performed at the Homer Stryker School of Medicine located at the University of Western Michigan and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound.

On October 29, 2020, Investigators with the Elkhart County Homicide Unit arrested Carlos Escobar-Escobedo (19) of Aurora, Illinois, and Luis Garcia (21) of Elkhart, Indiana, for the crime of murder relating to Mr. Roberts’ death. This is considered an on-going investigation, therefore no further details will be released at this time.
