DR. JAMES REESE PRESENTS WORKSHOP ON STRESS MANAGEMENT.

On Tuesday, September 11, 2007, Dr. James T. Reese, an internationally known award-winning author and an expert in the areas of stress management, leadership, profiling and workplace violence addressed over 130 local government employees on “Strategic Stress Management”.  This seminar on stress management and vicarious victimization was offered by Victim Assistance Services in partnership with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Elkhart Sheriff’s Department, Bristol Police Department, Wakarusa Police Departments and IUSB Elkhart Center.James T. Reese, Ph.D. is retired from the FBI after serving 25 years as a Supervisory Special Agent.  He established the stress program for the FBI, as well as the Employee Assistance Program and the Chaplains’ Program.  He was one of the original FBI criminal personality profilers.  He has published over seven books including, “Into the Minds of Mad Men”, “Law Enforcement Families: The Ultimate Backup” and “Psychological Body Armor”.  Dr. Reese gave real life examples of criminal cases and how to best deal with certain situations for the betterment of the case.  He talked about the effects of job-related stress and how that affects the family of law enforcement members and co-workers.  Strategic stress factors were discussed.  Humor was used to get his point across.  He helped you examine your beliefs and moral compass in protecting your own psychological self.
