Martin St. Ligonier, Indiana. The arrest took place in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on S. Main St. in Elkhart. At the time of the arrest the officers seized just over 100 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of approximately $10,000. At a Probable Cause Hearing on Friday, February 8th, the accusedÂs bond was set at $500,000.It is alleged that Mendez has been involved in numerous deliveries in Elkhart County of suspected cocaine in amounts ranging from ¼ pounds to kilos.The preliminary charges allege that Mendez made at least four deliveries of suspected cocaine. All of the alleged deliveries are considered Class A Felonies and Mendez faces a potential of up to 200 years in prison.While Mendez lives in Ligonier he has been employed in Elkhart County for the past six months.During the investigation the Elkhart County I.C.E. unit seized over 11 ounces of suspected cocaine with an estimated potential street value of over $31,000. ***
