*** MEDIA ADVISORY *** June 5. 2006 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WAKARUSA MAN ARRESTED BY ICE AND WAKARUSA POLICE DEPARTMENT MEDIA CONTACT: Bill Wargo, 296-1888 On Friday, June 2nd, Richard Boriboune, age 23, 415 N. Elkhart Street, Lot 19, Wakarusa, was arrested by ICE officers and officers of the Wakarusa Police Department. He was arrested at his home. The Wakarusa Police Department participates in an information sharing system with the county-wide drug investigation unit. Approximately one month ago Lt. Tim Hershberger, WPD, provided information that Boriboune was allegedly selling cocaine in the Wakarusa and Nappanee areas. Information was developed that led to the issuance of two arrest warrants for Boriboune charging two counts of Delivery of Cocaine, each Class A Felonies. Bond has been set at $200,000. Boriboune now faces up to 100 years in prison on these charges. At the time of his arrest officers also found a ¼ ounce of cocaine with an estimated street value of $800.00. Based on the seizure of this contraband additional charges may be filed. ÂWe believe that Boriboune plays a substantial role in the alleged distribution of cocaine in the Wakarusa and Nappanee communities. Based on our intelligence and his arrest and incarceration will have an impact on the availability of this drug in these areas, according to Bill Wargo, chief investigator with the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. ***
